your analytical skills and language capabilities.  They test
  how sharp your memory is. It is a compilation of 
      puzzles, turned and twisted to misdirect.

A TRYST WITH TEASERS

1. On a holiday in New York a woman shoots her husband in busy Times Square.  Seconds later, she exclaims with a mysterious glee, “Perfect shot.  I have accomplished what I have ever wanted.”  Ten minutes later both of them are seen entering a posh restaurant hand in hand for lunch. 
Question: How is this possible?

2. Ganguli works in a vegetable shop in a congested area of Calcutta.  He is always busy, as the shop is very well patronized.  He is only 5 feet tall.  He is outrageously obese.  His waistline measures 46 inches.  He wears shoes of the size of 10.  His age is 20.
Question: What does he weigh? 

3. It is boarding time for Flight No. 440 to Delhi from Chennai.  Passengers have started stepping into the aircraft.  Being an air hostess, you are welcoming them.  The plane has 240 seats.  At the scheduled time of departure it is found that five passengers have not shown up.  Time is clicking fast.  The forty-year-old pilot is upset.  He does not want to wait any longer.  A thirty-five-year-old sister of the flight steward is among the passengers yet to board.  Known for his strict ways, the pilot announces closure of all doors. 
Question: What is the age of the air hostess?

4. An old popular unmarried woman politician, known for her fiery tongue, more than 6 feet in height living in Telangana, cannot be buried in the neighbouring state of Andhra Pradesh. 
Question: Why?

5. You have just returned home from college.  You are very hungry.  Your mother brings you a glass bowl of almonds.  As your hand reaches out to the bowl, your mother warns, “Don’t gulp them all together.  Eat one after another.”   You shout back, “OK, mom.”
Question: How many almonds can you eat when your stomach is empty?

6. You have nine match sticks. 
Question: How can you make ten out of them?  You are not allowed to break any stick.

7. Some school boys are in London on an education tour.  While going round the famous city, they notice a huge red building.  A guide, accompanying them, says that it has been constructed entirely with red bricks.  Shortly later, they come across a grey tower.  The guide explains that it is made of grey blocks.   Next, they see a yellow structure.  The guide tells the boys that yellow stones have been used in building it.  After a while, a greenhouse comes into their view. 
Question: What is it made of?

8. Indians celebrate August 15 as their Independence Day.  July 4 is American Independence Day. 

Question: Is there a July 4 in India?

9.  A boy is looking at the sky.  He sees birds flying in formation.  There are two birds in front of a bird, two birds behind a bird and a bird in the middle.  

Question: How many birds he is seeing? 

10. In the kingdom of Krishnadevaraya, a dreaded robber was sentenced to death.  It was a year of celebration for the kingdom in view of the king’s 50th birthday. So, the king wanted to be lenient towards the robber.  He tells him, “Okay, you choose how you want to die.  It shall be done. Do you want to be hanged, trampled to death by an elephant, stung by a highly poisonous cobra or whatever?”  The robber was very clever.  He responded and soon he was seen walking scot free. 
Question:  What was the robber’s reply?

Answers:

1. She shot her husband with a camera.
2. He weighs vegetables.
3. You are the hostess.  State your age.
4. The woman politician is still living.  So the question of her burial does not arise.
5. Only one. After you consume it, your stomach is no longer empty.
6. Arrange the match sticks in the form of T E N.
7. Glass.  Greenhouse is a glass structure, in which plants are grown so that they can be protected from cold weather.
8.  July 4 comes in India also but it is not celebrated.
9.  There are three birds flying in one line one after another.
10. Robber’s response: “I want to be killed by strangulation by a week-old baby.”  That  is impossible. So he goes scot free.
